Technology assisted distance counseling

Technology Assisted Counseling (TAC) offers clients the flexibility of meeting remotely through phone or video teleconference sessions. TAC sessions are ideal for clients who are unable to meet face-to-face due to health concerns, scheduling challenges, physical location, inclement weather, or simply just personal preference.

How Does TAC work?

Sessions are conducted in a location of your choosing using a secure, user-friendly, HIPAA compliant video conferencing application or phone call.

Advantages to TAC

Work with a therapist who specializes in concerns and modalities that suit your needs.

Removes physical barriers to attending counseling sessions, such as physical location or health concerns.

An assessment will be done by your counselor to determine if TAC is right for you. TAC is not designed to be used for clients who are a threat to themselves or others.

Disadvantages to TAC

Ensuring that you are able to find a secure, private location for your session to be conducted. Technological challenges can cause disruptions to sessions, though the video-conferencing applications your counselor uses are designed with medical visits in mind.
